In order to apply for a job here in the Philippines you have to get a lot of requirements and clearances. I’m sure it might be the same in other countries but I was just overwhelmed when I heard I had do a lot of things in order to work.

My sister told me I have to get my NBI clearance, barangay and police clearance, apply for some IDs I can use like Postal ID and such. And being the nearly obsessive compulsive weirdo that I am (I say nearly because I’m only OCD with myself when no one’s around to notice it), I decided to get most of the requirements even before I go job-hunting.

So for tomorrow I will wake up at 5am, take a bath and then go to Puregold* to wait in line to get my NBI clearance.

Mind you, waking up at five in the morning is no easy feat for me since I’m accustomed to sleeping at 3am or sometimes even at 5am! It all started in March, weeks before my graduation. I thought to myself, “Now I can sleep whatever time I want and wake up whenever I want“. Of course I used to do that during weekends when I was still in college but doing that everyday for almost 2 months makes it a difficult habit to break.

So tomorrow, I will diligently remember the steps I will take to get whatever clearance I need and post it here to help you wanderers of this vast space called the internet.

*In Cavite (where I live) Puregold–a supermarket–is the nearest branch where we, Caviteños, can get our NBI clearance if we don’t want to go to Manila for whatever reason. My reason being that I was born and raised in U.A.E. so I am not comfortable commuting and wandering around Manila accompanied even if I am past 20 and have lived here for four years. It’s just scary.
